Joliet United Adjuncts Coalition, IEA-NEA, (or JUAC), represents Adjunct Faculty at Joliet Junior College. We are affiliated with the Illinois Education Association (IEA) and National Education Association (NEA).
Executive Board Meetings–The Executive Board meets monthly during the fall and spring semesters. Our first meeting for this semester was on Thursday 1/12 before the Adjunct Faculty Dinner. The rest of our meetings for Spring 2023 will be hybrid with some members in person and others attending virtually on Zoom. Meeting dates will be 2/27, 3/27, and 4/24 this semester. Members are always welcome to attend, so contact any Board member for more information if interested.
Get involved!! Department representatives can be appointed with the approval of the Executive Board until the next election cycle. If you missed the elections last spring but are interested in getting more involved, please contact us!!
Communications. Union information and/or business is sent to the personal email address of dues-paying members. If you are a member, please be sure that your email address on file with us is up to date!
Maintaining your membership: If you are not teaching during a fall or spring semester, you will not have payroll deduction of dues and your membership will be dropped. You will be automatically reinstated when you begin teaching again. If you are using NEA member benefits for any services or insurance policies, these are available only to members, so you will have to maintain your membership to keep these in effect. You may do this by paying reduced dues to our local association (JUAC) for the semester(s) in which you are not teaching. Contact the local president or membership secretary for details about how to do that.
